1) first, go to speakeasy.com/speedtest
2) get your current download/upload rate by running the test. jot it down so you can compare it
afterwards...

3) next, go to www.majorgeeks.com and download a free software called "TCP Optimizer" into your system. Install it and run the program.
4) under the "general setting" tab, slide the pointer to the maximum or your desired speed. Check the "optimal setting" box.
5) Click OK and Yes to reboot.

6) repeat the first (1) step. Compare it with your previous test.

Everyone has at least a handy/pen/thumb drive; so it never fail
to attract viruses out there from hiding in it (what's more if you have
more than one thumbdrive!)

so here is the way to keep those viruses at bay...
who knows they would be affecting your OS and system!

take a close look on these steps:

1) select "Run" program. type in "cmd" inside the box.

2) a command prompt menu appears. type in your thumbdrive's initial letter
for example: "g:" or "f:"

3) then, type in "dir/w/o/a/p" and all the files in the thumbdrive will be listed out.

4) caution on the file named as ;
-autorun.inf
-RavMon.exe

and those "strange" files that you'd never created beforehand. they are VIRUS!

5) to delete/eliminate them, just type in "attrib -h -r -s -a *.*" w/o quote mark, and this will neutralize them all

6) followed then by type in "del autorun.inf" <--- if the virus's filename is autorun.inf or any filename that may be contained viruses.

7) finally, scan your thumbdrive with an antivirus that you trust!

Annoying with the slow process of burning CD/DVDs? just follow these steps.
You'll find it works and saves a lot of times too..

While the CD/DVD is burned, take these steps;

First, open up Task Manager (by holding key Cltr+Alt+Del or Alt+F4)

Then, click on Tab;
find your cd-burner software (usually with the highest Memory Usage) and right-click on it.

Select on and set at "High or AboveNormal"

A warning box will pop up but just click OK! happy trying...
